Difusión y Transferencia

The researcher actively participates in Explora programs of scientific diffusion, from talks in "Open science explores" Región de Los Ríos, "let's open our laboratories," and "let's investigate at home," among others. It is noteworthy that her students have already been selected twice for the national congress organized by Explora.
In addition, the researcher actively participates with the health service, the Valdivia Base Hospital, the Seremi de Salud, civil society, schools, and patient organizations, among others, in campaigns for the promotion, prevention and dissemination of scientific advances in cancer, particularly in breast cancer With the regional government and through the FIC17-06 project, she develops a campaign "Your health in your hands" that included talks on prevention of breast cancer in the different districts of the region, both in schools and clinics.
She also participates in radio programs, press releases in the Austral newspaper, and webpages of the Universidad Austral de Chile, reinforcing these themes.

Premios y Distinciones

  •   ¿Can tumoral cells talk with the endothelial cells?

COMISION NACIONAL DE INVESTIGACION CIENTIFICA Y TECNOLOGICA

    Chile, 2014

This work was realized by Maribel Muñoz and Abigail Vásquez of " Instituto Superior de Administración y Turismo " (Valdivia) and they studied the effect of conditioned medium from estrogen sensitive breast cancer cell lines in the S-nitrosylation of endothelial proteins; these protein controls the endothelial barrier and the vascular permeability.
